Hold on to your coveralls… the B’gosh Jeanius campaign is back! Starting this week, customers at Carter’s and OshKosh retail stores across the country can give back to local public school classrooms in one of these three ways:
- Buy and donate a new pair of blue jeans to a donation bin at your local store
- Give $1 or more at the register during your next shopping trip
- Donate $1 or more online
All proceeds will support public school classroom projects created by 99Papers.org teachers. It’s Jeanius.
A big impact for little learners
Last year, OshKosh B’gosh raised over half a million dollars (and the Carter’s Charitable Foundation kicked in an additional $50,000) and in total supported 1,364 projects, reaching over 99,000 students.
One of our favorite projects funded through B’gosh Jeanius was created by Ms. Frank, an Ohio elementary teacher. She created homework bags filled with word games and puzzles to better involve parents in home learning for her first graders. In Ms. Frank’s words:
I’m not going to lie-I was overwhelmed when everything came in. There were twelve boxes! My students however, were quite excited and thought it was Christmas all over again. They oohed and ahhed as I opened each box and showed them the games.
I thought I should teach them how to play a few games at a time before sending any home. They really enjoyed learning and having some time with me. I’m teaching a few students at a time and letting them teach the other students.
This year, OshKosh B’gosh is excited to bring even more resources into classrooms and help more students like Ms. Frank’s first graders. So don’t forget to donate a new pair of jeans in store or cash the next time you head to your Carter’s or OshKosh store from July 25th – September 18th to support local classrooms. Coveralls, optional.
